Wednesday's Field Trip

Our last trip in 2015 is to the Roy Thomson Hall on Wednesday, December 16! We will go to enjoy the Orpheus Choir of Toronto. 


Students coming by subway: Meet teachers Kathleen and Peter at Don Mills subway station coffee shop at 9.45. Group will leave at 10.00 sharp.


Students coming on their own: Please be at the Hall at 10.45 -- 11 at the latest.

Some people argue that the gap between parents and children can be bridged, while others believe it is impossible to do so.

Write a balanced argument to address this statement. Make sure to state your opinion and support it with relevant ideas from your experience.

Thursday's assignment

Good afternoon everyone,

In order to make our speech/writing more colourful and vivid, we need to learn and practice the use of descriptive adjectives and adverbs.
Click on this link, go over the list there, and then answer the following questions:

Task 1:

Look at this picture below and describe the person in it. You need to describe the surroundings, what she is thinking of, what you think is her emotional state, and what might have been going in her life. Use at least 10 different adjectives/adverbs and make sure to write all in third person speaker (he/she/it).



Task 2:

Ask two of your classmates to proofread it and tell you his/her opinion and then they can add or change anything that they feel is not relevant.

Friday 4th, Field Trip to CBC Sound of the Season
